Use these prompts with an image bot →
Design for a small circular crop from the beginning. Put the important part near the center and leave room around it. A square image can look good on its own and still lose half its subject when cropped.
These are original starting prompts for an image-capable bot. Check the results yourself before using them. They aren't tested examples of what a specific bot will produce.
A simple channel icon
Create a square icon for a Telegram channel about practical AI tools. Show one friendly desk lamp illuminating a small notebook. Use a cream background, dark navy shapes and a bright blue accent. Center the objects and leave a wide margin for a circular crop. Use bold shapes with very little detail. No letters, logos or border.
Choose one recognizable idea for your own channel. A lamp and notebook fit a learning theme. A leaf, mountain or camera could suit something else. You don't need to show every subject the channel covers.
A clean illustrated portrait
Create a simple illustrated portrait based on my uploaded reference photo. Preserve the person's recognizable facial features and hairstyle. Show the head and shoulders, centered, with a relaxed expression. Use a plain pale blue background and soft natural shading. Leave room above the head and around both sides for a circular crop. No text or accessories that aren't in the reference.
Use an image-editing workflow for this, not just a text prompt. Compare the result to your reference. If it changes your face too much, keep the original and try a smaller stylistic change.
An object instead of a face
Create a square avatar showing one orange mug with a small curl of steam. Use a dark navy background and a simple, warm illustration style. Keep the mug large and centered, with generous space around the edges. No other objects, writing or decorative border. Make the silhouette easy to recognize at a small size.
An object can work well when you want a recognizable identity without using a portrait. Keep the shape and main color consistent if you later change the illustration.
A restrained abstract mark
Create a simple abstract symbol made from three rounded blue shapes arranged around a small cream circle. Use a solid navy background. Keep the shape centered and balanced with thick, clean edges. Avoid letters, gradients, shadows and intricate patterns. Design it to remain clear inside a small circular crop.
Don't ask an image bot to reproduce another company's logo. If you need a precise brand mark that scales cleanly, use a designer or a vector drawing tool for the final version.
Check the avatar before changing it
Preview the image at roughly the size it will appear in a chat list. Crop it into a circle. Then ask whether you can still identify the subject without zooming in.
Check the light and dark versions of the surrounding interface if you use both. An image with weak edges may disappear into one background even if it looks clear against the other.
Avoid changing the main shape and color every few days. You want returning readers to recognize the channel before they read its name.
Need a bot first? Compare the documented image bot options. If you want to adjust a portrait you already have, follow the photo editing workflow.
