Excel Tips & Tricks, at @tricks_excel, is one of my learning channels. It includes short Excel lessons that you can follow with a workbook open beside you.
The published learning roadmap covers foundations, formulas, functions, lookups, dynamic arrays, pivot tables and presentation. Start with that roadmap instead of jumping into whichever clip appears first. Open the learning roadmap.
Where to begin
The visible lesson sequence starts with searching formulas and values, then moves into copying formulas and building them step by step. Those are useful foundations before trying to combine several functions at once. Open the first lesson.
If you already know the basics, search the channel for the specific task you need. Keep your Excel version in mind when following a lesson, particularly when a function is unavailable in your installation.
Practice with your own small example
After watching a lesson, repeat the technique in a spare workbook. Change one value and see whether you understand the result. If you can only reproduce the exact example shown, spend a little more time with it before moving on.
Keep a short note describing when you would use the technique. “Find a price from a product code” is easier to connect to your work than saving a formula without context.
If you ask an AI assistant for help, use a small made-up dataset and explain the expected result. Test the formula in the workbook rather than trusting the explanation alone.
Continue with a clear learning goal
